Deccan tickets @ Rs. 499/- on SBI Credit Card

Offer: Deccan tickets @ Rs. 499/- for SBI Credit Card holders

Validity: for bookings till Mar 15, 2008 and valid for travel from Jan 15, 2008 to Mar 31, 2008

Description: Deccan in association with the State Bank of India (SBI) has announced its special fixed fare offer called the "SBI card - Flat Fare' offer, for all SBI Credit Card holders. A fixed fare of Rs. 499/- (Basic fare) will be offered to passengers booking on Deccan using their SBI credit card. Taxes and surcharge, as applicable will be borne by the passenger.

This offer is valid only for bookings made through the Deccan call centre (39008888). As with the case with most of the other offers, this offer can also not be combined with any other package/scheme.

This offer is non transferable and applicable only for SBI credit card holders. A credit card holder can also avail the offer for a maximum of 3 passengers per sector on a single flight. The credit card holder has to be one of the passengers availing the offer and traveling on the flight, else the offer will be invalid.

Rs. 499 per ticket may not look very attractive in case you're booking your tickets well in advance as you may get few better offers or schemes to book your tickets through, but you will certainly find it decent if you happen to book your tickets not much prior to your date of travel. Since you can book a maximum of 3 tickets per flight (including your ticket), so this can turn out to be quite a good offer if you're travelling with 1-2 friends. I've already posted few other good offers for air/train/hotel/holiday bookings applicable on SBI credit card and I've been noticing for quite a while that SBI credit card is becoming better and better for most of the travel needs. If you don't have this card by now, you may like to think if you really don't need it :-)

I also feel that SBI card offers more promotions than any other credit card.
But I have learned from the complaints available on the internet(such as on mouthshut.com etc) that customer service of SBI creidt card department is one of the worse. first of all, you to wait for long time to get your call answered and then you are going to experience the idiotness of their customer service executives.
I attribute this to the attitude problem present with public sector in general. Thank god, I don't have any problem with SBI people till now... :)

Yeah ashutosh... I guess you're right at least to some extent. Public sector entities are known for not providing as good services as their private sector counterparts. Probably this is the reason why we have ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HSBC Bank, AXIX bank, Citi Bank, etc. as the most preferred banks (of course depending upon the availability) in India and not SBI, Panjab National Bank, or any other public sector bank.

Most of the corporate houses have got their Employee Salary Account in any of the above mentioned preferred banks only. This is also a testimony of their better service.

I think, SBI has already started improving its services and I hope it'll not only continue that, but also increase the rate of improvement very soon to compete with the big Indian/Global private banks.

BTW, what's special about SBI Hyderabad card? Do they have separate cards for all big cities?

Thanks,
Niraj

Thnx for the info ashutosh... I was aware of the co-branded cards issued by ICICI Bank, Citi Bank, and other banks including SBI. You've already mentioned few of the SBI co-branded cards here. But, I wasn't aware of any city specific card :-)

Keep posting/sharing!

amir... only the Yatra Braclays Platinum Credit Card offer is currently applicable for air travel. I've posted this offer in the month of February. Plz find the post and let me know if it suits your needs or not. If not, then I'll try to find a right offer for you. If not on Barclays Card then may be on any other Card :-)

kartikeya... PSU Banks like SBI do comprise lot more customers...primarily because top notch private sector banks like ICICI, HDFC, HSBC, etc. have limited reach in rural or not-so-developed parts of the country. If given a choice... I guess, most of us would prefer to have an account in any of the better serving private banks than any PSU Bank.

I think, you won't disagree with the fact that PSU Banks are not as good in customer service... They're changing, still miles to go from here... what do u say?
