Flat 10% cachback - MasterCard benefits at Yatra

Offer: Yatra.com is offering flat 10% discount/cashback to all cardholders of Titanium, Platinum, and World MasterCard branded payment Cards - Debit Card or Credit Card issued in India.

Validity: this offer is in operation from immediate effect from Feb 28, 2008.

Desciption: A Cardholder is eligible for 10% discount/cash back on the base fare of Air tickets and on basic room rate for Hotel Bookings subject to the under-mentioned maximum limits per calendar year ( January – December ) :

  • Domestic Flights - INR 10,000
  • International Flights - INR 20,000
  • All Hotels & Holidays - No Limit

The Discount/Cash Back is valid only for such bookings where holder of the Card through which payment was made is one of the travelers/guests OR the surname of at least one of the travelers is the same as that of the holder of the card through which payment was made.

The Discount will be in the form of cash back. Discount will be valid on bookings on all scheduled Domestic and International Airlines (Full service and Low cost carriers) and all Domestic and International Hotels & Holidays made through Yatra. However, bookings on Air Deccan shall not be valid for discount/cash back.

If you have a Titanium, Platinum, or World MasterCard then you may consider this offer in few situations namely - you've used your other cards for other bookings and can't enjoy the other better offers on those cards, other offers are also as good as this one only, etc. If you're aware of the offer, it can definitely be of some use at some point of time. Reason being, there is no expiry date announced for this MasterCard offer. It has just started and I hope it'll continue for at least few coming months. 10% discount on base fare may not save you lots of money, but you can certainly enjoy that bit during a lean-offer period :-)

There are so many offers for Visa card holders such as free movie tickets, good discounts on travel deals and so on. Now it seems that master card is catching up the race. good for the customers...

Yep... MasterCard needs to be at least as attractive as Visa to increase their presence in India. Visa is probably the most preferred card by quite a huge margin. I guess, American Express is concentrating more on becoming the most preferred corporate card. So, it looks mainly Visa versus MasterCard.

Anyway, both of these companies are rumored to have been working in tandem since long. So, you may not see any direct competition.

Thanks,
Niraj
